A Visual History
With over 4000 photographs, postcards, and photograph albums, the Photographic Collection documents the visual history of Cannock Chase. It captures the growth of towns and villages, industrial activity, community life, and the changing of the natural landscape.
Documenting Life
Highlights include early photograph albums belonging to prominent local families such as the Hawkins, Withington, and Gilpin families, as well as images documenting housing redevelopment and slum clearances compiled by local authorities.
