The legacy of our ex-mining community remains in the sense of community spirit in the area. This is illustrated by an active creative voluntary sector. Throughout the District, local clubs and societies provide many arts activities, events and facilities.
Cannock Chase Arts Council is an umbrella organisation that represents amateur dramatic, musical comedy, comedy, choral, brass band, flower arranging and visual art societies. It is a fine example of the voluntary sector supporting the development and raising awareness of arts in the district and works closely with our service.
Creative Development supports local groups in a number of ways such as audience development initiatives, funding guidance and the opportunity to be involved in large-scale community projects to develop skills.
