Bridgtown Tales Trail

Bridgtown’s fascinating history is being brought to life in a brand-new way with the launch of the Bridgtown Tales Trail – an interactive walk that combines local stories, creativity and community spirit.

The trail takes you on a journey through the village, with eight QR codes dotted along the route. Each one reveals a slice of Bridgtown’s past, from surprising facts to colourful stories that make up the fabric of the community. It’s a chance to see familiar streets from a fresh perspective and uncover hidden layers of history along the way.

What makes the project extra special is the involvement of local schoolchildren, who worked with professional artists to create the content for each stop. Their imagination has helped bring history to life in a fun and engaging way, adding a new dimension to tales of the past.

The trail has been developed with the support of Cannock Chase Council, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, and the Bridgtown and District Local History Group, with funding from the Cannock Chase Can programme – an initiative that encourages people to get moving, explore their surroundings, and feel good while doing it.

To take part, you can pick up a free trail map from local venues or download it online. The route is also featured on the Cannock Chase Can app, where you can track your progress and find more free activities to enjoy across the area.

Whether you’re a resident looking to rediscover your village or a visitor keen to learn more, the Bridgtown Tales Trail is a chance to step into the past while exploring the present.
