Where local treasures meet local voices — the Cannock Chase Collections Podcast brings the stories of our landscape, people, and past to life.

Over recent months, our team and community partners have worked together to uncover, research, and record the remarkable histories held within our collections. Each episode explores a carefully chosen object alongside the people whose lives, work, or memories connect directly to it — revealing the rich and personal stories behind Cannock Chase’s heritage.

The series features conversations with local community groups protecting heritage today, reflections on the area’s once-thriving glassmaking industry, powerful accounts of New Zealand soldiers who trained on Cannock Chase during the First World War, an intimate look at the life and work of beloved local poet Nancy Foster, and first-hand memories from former miners who worked underground at Lea Hall Colliery.

This podcast is a celebration of the dedication, pride, and shared history that continue to shape the people and places of Cannock Chase.=
