Miner’s Cottage

At the turn of the century, a miner’s home would have looked very similar to this – the range that needs blackleading daily, the copper in the corner to heat water and the mangle to help on washday. When dad came home filthy from a day down the pit, he would have bathed in the tin bath in front of the fire in the days before the Miners’ Baths were built.
